Overstock?

i currently have a 55g with a silver arowana, clown knife, bichir, pike cichlid, and marble goby. they're all about 6" currently. is it overstocked?

Honestly a 55 gallon is too small for your stock, and right now it's overstocked.

yeah i did arowana research before i bought it but i don't plan on upgrading till 2016. will i be good till then?

No. Start planning now. They will be too big and bust that 55g.

What would the upgrade be to? Even then the arowana will have surpassed the capacity of the 55g

+1 a 20+ inch Silver arowana busted through my 180 gallons center brace and shattered it and killed himself because he jumped out.... and that was a 180 gallon. He was a year or two old and did that like a piece of cake. Imagine a small 55 gallon in 3 or 4 months...
