I will soon be upgrading my 20 gallon tank to a 75 gallon tank and I am trying to pick the right filter. I am currently using an internal power filter but I think when I go to my bigger tank, I want as little in the tank as possible. I am going to be getting a stand with a sump so when the time comes, I may be back asking more questions about setting that up. I want a good filter but I don't want to be spending 200+ on my filter alone. I guess you can refer to me as a casual fish keeper. I would like to keep my filter around $100. Is this a good filter for a 75 gallon tank? http://www.amazon.com/Cascade®-Canister-Filter-Gallon-Aquariums/dp/B0002DJ9NY#customerReviews

Any canister filter will work for you...just make sure its rated at like 100 gallons or more...personally if I were you I would just get an AC110 HOB filter....easier maintenance and honestly will probably keep your 75 cleaner.
