Noob question?

So I've done extensive researching on building a diy pvc overflow and instead of pvc I'm going with a 1 and half inch abs pipe. Question is do I abs cement the inside of tank piping too? Some sources say yes and some say no. I'm confused as whether it will affect water quality(if yes) and if no what if the pipe falls apart inside the tank. I will post pics as I finish this project (step by step pics for all other diy sump beginners) thnks in advance.

Welli suppose you could just use aquarium safe epoxy/sealent and it would stick. Perhaps lean a rock against it

Awesome. So I've cemented the parts together. Next is drilling the Rubbermaid for pipe fittings.
