Does anyone have any experience with these guys ...would like to hear some input from ppl that had/have them..and thinking about getting one for $80 around 6-7 inches ...is that a good price for it or over priced ??

Decent price for one that big. Absolutely the wife and my favorite fish. Can't wait to interact with us when we come in the room. Always ready to eat. They will eat from your fingers with no training but it is kind of dangerous because they could easily take a finger tip. They grow very fast up to about 10 inches and then slow down. Mine is nearly two years old and at a foot is not noticeably growing now. They will usually eat their roommates but I have found fast, schooling fish are safe. They intimidate mine and she just lays there so she currently is solo. If you can spare a big (they need a 2 ft wide tank to themselves) tank for one fish, get it. I have planted her tank with no problems so having only one fish in a big tank isn't a waste.
