Hi guys, Im in the process of building a 10x3x3 glass aquarium.
I have ordered all of the glass and finished all of the edges.
Next step is to make the stand. Im not sure what design i will use for the stand. The tank will be in wall so id like to make it out of stud timber (90x45mm pine).
Any suggestions on design will be appreciated!
Stay tuned for more updates!View attachment 1056209View attachment 1056210

Nothing more exciting then seeing fresh glass like that :)

IMO the strongest stand out of wood you can make is the same way a house is built.
Couple of partition walls (legs) then build a floor on top of the partitions. Double up pieces and run joists 12 on center.

The only silicone you should be using is GE SCS 1200.

Can't wait to see this thing!

If this build ever becomes a hassle, let me know, I'll gladly take it off your hands.

Good luck on the stand though. Definitely put some thought into it before you build it. That's alot of water. Alot of water is a lot of weight.
