I just got a trio of adult electric blue acara from a friend yesterday, apparently they have laid eggs in the past but they were eaten by other tankmates and now that I have them two are off alone and keep showing off while twitching. They are also grabbing leaves and rocks next to each other and shaking towards one another, just wondering if they are trying to breed already and I should give them cave or if this is just territorial aggression.

Sounds like they are getting ready....I would give them all options:flat stone,vertical,wood,cave-terra pot.sometimes a few target fish can help bond them
