Laminate plexiglass?

If building a fish tank can you laminate like 3 pcs of acrylic together to make the windows? Or would it fail? I guess to come up to the thickness needed for having a window x inches high.

Not planning anything just a question

I don't think that would work. You need a solid piece of the correct thinkness.
Just seems impossible for a DIYer to face glue sheets of acrylic like that and get a good bond

Sure...if u have a giant oven. They laminate sheets in this fashion for bullet proof/resistant windows. Its also possible to glue sheets together with weld on #40 but for the price of glue you'd need itd be cheaper to just buy the appropriate thickness outright. Theres money to be saved on cutting down the window size of a diy build...2'x4' sheets of acrylic are fairly affordable up to 3/4"-1".
