Saw a posting in a Thai fb group today on a ST being caught. Couldn't understand the write-up but the ST looks dead

Does`nt look dead to me. The colors are not faded at all and there is current trailing from the tail. There does`nt seem to be anything holding it in place. IMO, it`s just played out.
If there's one, or there was one let's hope there's plenty more hiding

Are ST just endemic to Thailand? Or can they be found in other countries like Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam or Burma?
