I've got a 180 with a 55 sump, single 1.5" durso drain but i can bump that up to 2" or even 3" if needed. id rather run 2 pumps in case one dies so I'm wondering if i should go with 2 dc3000's or 2 dc6000's? overall price is of course lower for the 3000's but i don't want to be wishing i went for more.

also these pumps are submersible correct?

They are submersible *only*

I'm picking out pumps right now for a 300gallon set up and decided on two of the jebao 12000's. I would get the 6000's. Like you said, not enough is worse than too much, and in this case--the pumps are variable anyway.
