the gator gar can and will try to kill the arapima. How big is the tank you will be keeping them and is there any other fish?
The arapima only need about 3 months to beat the growth of the gar BTW.

500 I only plan on keeping the arapima for about a year then putting him in a pound theres a 15-16 inch aro in the a 13 inch rtc and a 10 inch shovel nose cat and a 14 in clown knife
My gator gar 23" would carry 14" oscars around in his mouth. Even if they can't eat them, they will try. Gators are the MOST aggressive gar and they are not smart about what will fit down their throats. Lol
