2262 setup...finally ordered it

Guys need some help on what else I need to get. Lots of questions. I am going to swap out the bio I have in the fx6 into the new 2262. Tank is a 150 and also has an ac110.

1) how much matrix will I need to fill the 2262 ontop of whats in the fx6( I have an fx6 full of matrix/substratepro/biomax) I will need some extra as the fx6 will be moved to another tank and will be filled with bio from a 2217.

2) poret foam sizes was thinking on geting 10 ppi 20 ppi and 30 ppi. What thickness (was thinking 2 or 3 inches)and what size sheets would I need.

3) how much eheim mech should I get? I have some in the 2217.

4) should I also get ehfifix ?


5) can the intake be extended to reach further down the tank ?

6) anything I should do differently with the spray bar ?


Is there anything I am missing ?

Want a decent amount of mech as the tank is in my living rooom...wife would live to complain that its cloudy !

I don't know how much media you will need but kens fish has a great price in pond matrix. I just ordered 4 liters of it. I don't know anything about the canister so I can't help you there. I just thought I would throw that out there lol. Good luck.

There's a guy posts on here named "deeda". He uses the same username on the houston fish keepers forum, too. He is the expert on setting on 2262 Eheim's, why they're great, etc. search for deeda's posts, you'll see him answering all kinds of questions on these. you'll find him answering ME about 1 1/2 years ago when I bought mine. If you put his name in google, you'll probably see all his posts on the houston fish forum, too. Deeda is the man.

Ragin what sup brosky.... thanks deeda ....I usually do search but with the mobile app its not to search friendly...matter of fact you guys told me a bunch of stuff regarding the filter last year...thanks guys

I wasn't happy with the Ehfifix so I don't use it.

You can use some PVC pipe and a short length of Eheim hose to make an extension if you find it isn't long enough.
