I've been wanting to get this thing rescaped for a while now. Any tips on how to make it look better would be great. The right side looks empty IMO. I may add another piece of bigger driftwood in the corner. I still need some more plants too. Sorry it's so cloudy I just got it done.

Some java fern and anubias flushed up around the wood structure would look nice. A piece of wood on the right side that juts out into the middle would also look good. I always think about eye movement when scaping--direct the eye away from the edges to the center with lines that the eye will naturally follow. I would face the place where the lighter toned wood was cut away from the front of the tank, or mask it with plants. So far so good though!

Your lap looks amazing! Where'd you get it?

Thanks. I actually tied the driftwood in together but I'll have them out when I switch to garnet sand. I should be able to grab so Anubia and Java fern out of my other tanks. I actually picked him up from my LFS for $40. Killer deal, they definitely didn't know what they had. I love his green and brownish orange stripes.

Yeah that coloration is absolutely amazing. I'm going to grab another lap soon enough. Is he Guinean or Nigerian? Looks Nigerian, but I'm not positive.

I got the garnet sand in last night. Still not 100% clear but it's getting there. Opinions on the scape, should I keep it simple (basically how it is now with just the centerpiece) or should I keep working on it (caves and rock work, more plants, more hides, etc.) btw my dels color has popped so much already.

If I were you I would add some rock work or more driftwood to the left and leave the open space to the right plain. I have somewhat the same layout in my tank and some of my polys like to chill in the open space, while other like to hide, so it's enough to accommodate for both personalities.

My endli and del have been chilling over there all day lol. But all my others like to hide. Thank you. I'll try to find a matching piece of driftwood for the left. And I'll do some rock work around.
