How do people see their fish in those black stock tanks?

White pool filter sand can help a little. Otherwise get use to seeing them from the top only. Rays are about the only thing easily seen in a black stock tank.

Here's couple shots of my stock tanks. I find that if the fish is near the surface, or hovering over a light colored object, they are visible.
Or if the sun, or lighting is perfect.
If not, they blend very easily.
