Um....its not a grass carp, its one of these larger Western native minnows. Almost looks like a northern squawfish to me.

But it could be just a bad picture. Its just kinda of odd that this fish has sharp pointed on fins where grass carps has round pointed fins.

It's a really bad picture. It was dark and only had my phone. Plus as I pulled him on to the bank, he got caught in my dad's line and got mud/sand/rocks all over him. I felt really bad for the little guy. :( But yeah, it's definitely a carp species of some kind. Not 100% on grass carp, but 100% on carp.

It's a silver or bigeye carp, not a Grass carp
Silver and bighead carps are not found in western United States and they don't have large scales, only tiny scales. Maybe its just a freaky grass carp.

It's in a Park, they will have been released there anyway. But anyway, you could be right with the freak Grass Carp
