So, last night I had 11 clown loaches and now I have 10....well, 10 with skin.
What is facinating is the tusks. They are very visable now. I don't want to be morbid, but something in my tank, probably his brothers and sisters, picked this skeleton clean.
Losing a fish, even a small clown loach, sucks and I am a little bummed out, but the question is, how? How did the others get this fish so picked clean? Amazing.
Anyway, on with life.

Two things, I agree, I hate losing fish.
and, wow, this is pretty cool!
those subocular spines are pretty fearsome looking!
(10 years of clown loach keeping and I have never seen them raised, except in a picture, so that's why I think this is cool)

they do eat fish flesh as they get older, I read an article about breeding them somewhere (loaches.com) I think it was, fish flesh was part of the diet mentioned.

Many fish keepers don't seem to realize that CL are carnivores.

those arent tusks those are its eye teeth. This is why African cichlids will not harrass clown loaches. Those eye teeth are sharp as needles.
