What do you use for media in your sump and wet/dry?
I currently have a 125 gallon sump on my 180 and in the middle of setting up a wet/dry on a 125. 125 gallon sump currently has 20l of k1, 10 gallon bio balls, 12 big ceramic rings ( going to get more or marinepure), and 14 bamboo in pump chamber.

Biohome I have heard nothing but great things about it and its pretty easy on the pocket book due to the fact it can handle a serious serious bio-load

Just a penny for your thoughts.

180 and 125 sump? Thats serious. I love large sumps.

My 90g has a 40b sump. Ive got a 6 tier trickle tower. Drawers 1 and 2 are mechanical media (pads and floss) drawer 3 is bio balls, then I have 2 drawers of pot scrubs. The bottom drawer is 500g of biomax.

Ive also got 4 large air driven sponge filters and pothos in the sump, as well as a large basket of cichlid fry growing out

Is biohome not very expensive to get in canada?
i should clarify it is a 125 sump on a 180, and a trickle into a 70 gallon sump is got ng to be on a different 125. But yes i have found out over filtering is easier in the end. I will have to upload some pictures when i figure out how to do it

I am dong the same thing for the first 2 drawers but i am considering cheaping out and gong all pot scrubbies in 3 drawers then big ceramic rings in the bottom drawer (2 1/4 o.d. x1 1/4 i.d. x 6" length) $1.50 a pieces and would probably get 50 to fill the drawer standing upright.
What is in your main tank? I imagine that would be a very large bio load the sump could handle.
sponge filter is the only thing i am lacking in my sump.

The sponge filters were originally seeded in my old 75g setup to help Jumpstart the 90. I keep them in there. I always keep a few going incase I need to set up a quarantine, or extra tank, maybe a canister or something takes a dive on another tank and needs some extra filtration. They are awesome

Very nice setup looks alot nicer then mine but it was a 300 dollar tank with a rena xp4 filter so it is what it is. Plan on saving some cash and building a big tank so this one is going to stay how it looks right now. I definitely need to get a spo ge filter going haven't had a tank crash yet but would hate to have it happen and not be prepared.
