Check out kens fish online. I bout the biggest fusion brand pump he had. I think it was like $18 and it pumps some mad air. Its fairly quiet too with dual outlets and adjustable flow. Pretty big though

Right on. I might grab that, 2 cubic feet of k1, and two rings. Maybe I'll profit from a half k1, half lava rock filter with insane mech filtration to keep my lava rock from scumming up. I'm afraid of going the only lava rock route and having to maintainance my filter ever time my fish breathe too hard. This sump is going to be a huge pain to maintainance. There is very little wiggle room down there.

What about a sump setup like this. Idk if its possible or not. Overflow down to sump through mech filtration, then to k1 bed, then through more mech if possible to a lava rock chamber?

Drains/filter socks emptying into a filter floss chamber/egg crate surrounded by floor machine scrubber pads/k1moving bed/egg crate surrounded by floor scrubber pads/filter floss/egg crate w/floor scrubber pads/ lava rock in lingerie bags/ egg crate/return pumps 2x jebao dct 12000

Sounds good. The lava rock in bags should help a lot with unnecessary debris.
