Getting back into the hobby in Dallas Texas!

I have a 72"x18"x25" 135 and a 48"x 24"x32" 150 and I want to set one of them up. I have 2 fx5's that I will be using for filtration and just looking to get help with some ideas on how to stock it. I would really love to have a show fish like a red Texas or flowerhorn but I don't want to have a single fish tank.

Could you guys toss out some ideas on which tank and what what to stock it with that would be awesome.

I am also new to the Dallas area and don't know how the market is and availability of good fish.

Any and all help/advice would be nice!

I used to have fresh water rays (motoro's) and dats in the 150 and oscars, red hook silvers, and a royal clown knife in the 135. Not looking to upgrade tanks so have to find other pairings that won't need larger tanks in the future.

Good luck around here.... I live in McKinney very close to Dallas and I go down there all the time there are no great fishstores here..... Took me months to find my jaguar cichlid only good store is the fish gallery sort of.....

Welcome to Dallas!

For more exotic freshwater fish that Petco/Petsmart don't carry, the 2 stores I go to are Fish Gallery in Dallas (http://www.thefishgallery.com/) , and Dallas North Aquarium in Carrolton (http://www.dallasnorthaquarium.com/). They're a little pricey sometimes, but usually carry some cool stuff, and usually have some used high end equipment for cheap.

Where abouts in Dallas are you?

Had some jags before I moved down here. Started with 8 petsmart jags and these 2 killed off the rest. The yellow ended up getting killed by the darker one right before I moved to Texas. Nice fish but so mean to each other.
