I have a 90 gallon tank with 3 four inch Red Severums and 1 six inch Gold Severum. One on my Reds just layed eggs with the six inch Gold last night.I saw them laying eggs, the Red is the female.Questions I have is,I thought they layed eggs on a flat surface? These guys layed them on a piece of slate leaning against the side of the tank.Like an Angel or Discus would do.Is that normal? This is the first time they layed eggs. Also with a Red and a Gold mix, what would the fry look like when they got bigger?

Hey that is perfectly normal most cichlid lay there eggs on any flat surface. A slate is a perfect example of that . As for how the fry turn out they will probably take the gene of one of the parents so most fry will be red or gold ✌️
