Ok so I have a canister filter coming to replace the two HOB's on my 55g. The canister comes with plumbing and a single outlet return for the tank. I was going to make a spray bar and wanted some opinions where I should place the spray bar. Should I put the inlet on one side of the tank and the return(spray bar) on the other side to make a nice current throughout the tank or make a big spray bar and hang it on the back firing towards the front? FYI the tank has 4 large angels, a handful or rams, small shoal of serpae tetra and a couple smaller pleco's.(BN and gold nugget). Any help would be appreciated. I'm pretty new to canisters for aquariums.

I don't have my spray bar yet on my tank (coming soon)but personally I always like my from back to front of tank.

Just my opinion.

The inlet and spraybar should be on the same end of the tank.

Spraybar angled up at the surface of the water.

Everyone has a different idea on what will work for their particular setup. Where plants and decorations are placed will influence how the water flows.
