Topic. I have heard this is used, but the mold proof is throwing me for a loop. It says 100% silicone in many places on the bottle. I have heard it is usable, but want to know if anyone is 100%.

GE brand, premium waterproof silicone-- silicone II clear.

Thanks!

I've heard ge 2 has a mold inhibitor which would make it highly questionable. I think both ge 1 and 2 say not aquarium safe, so most people will suggest another product. I've also heard they are both aquarium safe if you give them a proper curing time, which I think was between 2-4 weeks. It's not the most ideal product but I've heard it works.

Another forum states that they say not aquarium safe because of a deal with all-glass. It says 100% silicone. Can they write that on the bottle of it also contains a mold inhibiting chemical?

From what I've gathered 100% silicone in no way means no mold inhibitor.

I resealed 3 125s about 2 years ago with ge 1, I let them cure for only a few days and have had no problems with any of the tanks.

Hmm. Is there a tried and true, absolutely aquarium safe brand that will not cost me an arm and/or a leg?

Would love to finish the portion of the project I set in on tonight, but not if it means taking a risk, however slight.
