So I've decided to make an all glass tank which will either be 36x36x12 or 36x36x16. The thickness calculator I used told me I need 1/4 inch glass.... Will 1/4 inch glass be fine for me build if I brace 2 opposite sides with a 2 inch glass brace?...... Also I have 2 40 breeder stands which standing side by side are the exact dimensions of the tank..... The stands are flat on top to disperse all of the weight evenly ..... They aren't the type of stands that only hold tanks by the bottom brace...... If I put both of these side by side with an inch of foam over it will it be ok for my tank?

The stands should be fine. However I feel 1/4" glass sounds thin in my opinion but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Thanks .... So in your opinion just adding the 1 inch foam board will work?.....I wouldn't want the tank to crack at the bottom since it will be sitting on 2 diff stands but I fig that's what the foam was for ....... I think I'm gonna go 3/8

Around the sides ..... I have the foam board laying around so I figured I would use it anyways ...... And I think I'll use triangle braces on top of each corner

Careful with the foam, alot of reports that foam actually damages the glass more then it helps. It's a tough one since 2 stands will be used. If the tank sits nearly flat...I'd stay away from the foam.

Tank makers actually void the warranty if a costumer uses foam.
