Hello,

I have a 450 african cichlid tank and I have he'd found a lot of fish dieing in the last week. Yesterday one died, they day before yesterday one died, and the day before that 2 died. Now a bout 5 of the fish show signs of sickness and i have no clue what it is. I would appreciate any opinions. Thanks!

When did you last do a gravel/canister cleanup?

I would start with that and add salt...
I have a drip system and it constantly does water changes. The last time i changed the filter was a week ago. The large haps move the gravel around and there is lots of plecos to clean the stuff up. If i added salt it would go away because of the drip system so it would be hard and same with meds. I can turn off the drip system to treat it but i want be sure i am treating it right before i turn it off.

What's the current tank temperature?

Test results?

When and what was the last maintenance completed before the symptoms presented?
The ammonia and nitate is 0.
The nitrate is 10.
The ph is 7.8
About a week ago i noticed bumps on some of the fish but i figured it would go away like i usually does and the only new tank mate in more than a month is a mawali eye biter added after the symptoms started. Stress could be a small factor because late at night yesterday i noticed this and got a 12" L014 pleco out because it seemed healthy and i want to lower the possibility of loosing the L014.
