First I would like to Hi everyone as i am new to the forum. Now down to business I have a 10" mala that for the last 2 weeks has not been himself, he has stopped eating and is just constantly what looks like heavy breathing I've tried epsom salt baths incase it's constipation and treated With an anti internal bacteria. But no joy all my water readings are spot on and partial water change regular. Feed him frozen fish, worms and the odd feeder I've even put a couple of feeder fish in to temp and not interested at all please help.

What about the water quality? Is it too new? Has it been cycled?

I had an Oscar that was breathing heavy due to poor oxygen level in the water. I have never kept Mala before do they come to the surface to gulp oxygen like Snakeheads? So for my Oscar improving the water flow improved the oxygen level in the water and he recovered.

I once had a mala that refused food for over half a year after he was moved into another tank. They're stubborn fish.
