I'm setting up a new 55 gallon tank and wanted some ideas on stocking (after it's been cycled of course). I don't want African cichlids. Could be community or aggressive.

My 55 gallon has changed a couple times, here are some things I've done:

Cyprinid Biotope
4 Gold barbs
4 Roseline sharks
5 Odessa barbs
3 Arulius barbs
This was a pretty neat little community

Wet Pet Tank
1 - Gulper Cat or 1 - Wolfish or 1 - other predatory fish

My current tank
5 - Geo RH Tapajos
1 - L200 Pleco

How well did the wolffish do? I figured they would need a larger tank. Very cool fish always wanted one

Depends on the species of wolf. Reds, purple, white can be kept in a 55g solo for life. Need a bigger footprint for tankmates. Need big tank mates for them. Commons and larger need 150g+ depending on species. The nature of the fish will determine tank-mates. But usually the bigger the fish than the wolf. The less likely it will kill it without itself getting eaten.
