I have a 265 gallon glass tank and my current filtration is two AC110 HOBs and two fluval FX5s. My stock is two lugubris pike, four p. loisellei, and 3 severums. I would like to switch to a sump, with HOB overflows and a DIY 55 gallon refugium style simple sump.
Im looking at Eshopps overflows. I want two (one on each side of the tank) what size do you recommend? PF-800 or PF1000 one or two? Why?
also, by adding the sump how much of my original filtration can I expect to eliminate? both AC110's? Both FX5 and keep the AC110s? One of each? Im thinking about removing the AC110s and having the return from the pump in the center of the tank, with the overflows on both ends on the back. I need some advice ive never used a sump before, i have no budget in mind, i only want reliable and effective sump. im open to advice!
