Overflow box horror story

Sat 2am on Tuesday my tank flooded and during school today my tamk flooded and I wasn't there to turn off th pump I will be buying a drilled tank soon

Would help if you can tell us what happened
Don't know what caused the siphon to break. All I know is that it was probably because of the power going out then turning back on. Thankfully my fish are ok and are eating well.

I had diy overflows out of pvc 2 years running they never had a problem. didn't even use an aqualifter pump.

Sorry about your catastrophe. How bad was the water damage?

$15 for a hole saw and $5 for a bulkhead. ...Hard for me not to justify it.

I used to run a non-drilled tank overflow. I gave up on an unaided siphon. I used a powerhead in the overflow box to pump water to the sump, then another pump to pump it up. It was a nightmare.

If you have a sump, you need to drill, in my humble opinion.
