Hey guys, I am getting ready to start setting up a 150 gal extra high tank. The tank dimensions are 24x24x30. This will be set up as a planted tank to house my tigrinus, a few axolotls, and once the tank is up, a jardini arrowanna. My question is, what are your reccomendations as far as lighting goes?

That's 75 gallons dude. Hopefully you didn't pay thinking otherwise...

For those fish dim lights. Don't get fancy or expensive it's just more money and more algae. A few home LED bulbs or a shop light ballast.

For a tank that of that height, I would go with t5s. Are you sure it is a 150 tall? The dimensions seem a little funky.

Also, I would not combine axolotls with those fish. The tigrinus or arowana will make quick work of them. If they don't, your tropical aquarium temps will. Axolotls prefer mid to high 60s. Tropical temps are not ideal for them.

*edit. Sorry, didn't see your post, Yoimbrian.

Its not a 75, a 75 gal tank is 21" tall this tank is 30" tall. The axolotls have been in 80 degree water since I got them and are doing great but im sure eventually they may end up as a meal. Im digging the current led but with the height of the tank im worried I wont get good growth at the bottom. The satalite seems like it would do the trick but im leaning more towards the orbit

The dimensions you gave us are for a 75 gallon aquarium. A quick search on google will show you.

I tried two 48" Current Satellite fixtures on my 150 tall (48x24x31) and they could not support plant growth for a tank of that height.
