Hello, I wondered if a "guard" of sorts was required for heaters in a stock tank. I was thinking of throwing an old 10 gallon glass tank in the 100 gallon stock tank and putting the heaters in there but I'd rather just drop them in for circulation sake. Any experience?

I threw them in a 300g rubbermaid stock tank. No issues at all I just piled driftwood on top of them so my fish wouldn't crack them

I always ran my heaters from 300-800 watts in pvc drilled with a bunch of holes and end caps. Just laid them in the bottom if it was a sump setup or hung them from pond netting.

I have 3 500 watt heaters laying right on the bottom of mine. water flow seems to keep them from damaging the tank.
