Since no one on mfk has ever made a vittata grow out thread I think it's about time for one to be made
Here's a little introduction on this species: These guys are really cool they have a long snout reminiscent to a alligators (hence the name) and can grow to be one of the largest if not the largest crenicichla species, Oliver lucanus reports sighting one while diving claiming it was 2+ feet! They're a lacustris type of pike and are subtropical.
I ordered 6 crenicichla vittata alligator pikes. Anyways here they are at 2 inches a couple of them are under 2 inches actually... They're feeding on cut tilapia pieces. My goal is to grow them out and spawn them which vinny kutty did with his at 7-8 inches. Then after I get some spawns and pick up some size since they're supposedly one of the most peaceful pikes they'll go into my 300 gallon with oddballs and other fish.
I'll update their growth and stuff with pics. Enjoy!
