Since im on vacation and got lots time, ive decided to read up on the books i've picked up. Just wanna share that almost all of them had misIDs and wrong info usually on monster fish:( usually the size/name is wrong:(

My fish library is real small but I just started american cichlids II large cichlids. Really like it talks about most of the fish i lm into.

Didnt like tank busters at all.

Also liked the cichlid aquarium. Felt too much was devoted to africans but i really cant mnock the book for that, im just not into them

I have Tankbusters and I like it for the photos and illustrations.I also have that moray eel book that is pictured above.

True the photos are nice.
Pissed that american cichlids II touched on all the vieja types except my fav (argentea)

Not to derail op's thread but anyone recommend a good book on ca cichlids and plecos

To me Ad Konings book Cichlids from Central America is excellent, you just need to ignore genus names, because it's from 1989, and DNA research was in its infancy.
One of the reasons argentea may not have been in American cichlids II (published in 1995) is argentea was only first described in 1991.
