Milky Way Galaxy,
Since my ponds basically are self sustaining and now preparing for college I'm thinking about setting up my 50g saltwater tank again. It's empty just with live rock and sand I'm looking to keep it LOW maintenance as possible. I'm thinking maybe just 2 clown fish?? With just 2 clowns in a 50g would I still have to do 20% WC every week??

I think you could do every two weeks possibly thee with only clowns.

With that low of a bioload I think every 3-4 weeks is fine. Providing you have adequate filtration and aren't over feeding

I'd also invest in Caulerpa or a similar macroalgae for nutrient export as well. Macroalgae really helps me when I have to go a few weeks without a water change with my 29 reef-thingy aquarium. Then again, I have briareum, kenya trees, 'shroom anemones, and a galaxea coral, so they're mostly hardy corals...

two clowns in a 50 gallon with adequate rock and you would very rarely need to do water changes in all honesty
