Anyone know what species of darters or shiners I can find in this state? I live on a man made lake, and it was originally stocked with white crappie, bluegill, and spotted bass but now somehow has bullheads, black horse, gar, shad, gambusia, and I caught some kind of darter ONCE. It's the only one I've seen. Anyone know where I can go and find them regularly?

This may sound like a dumb question, but don't these fish show up in baitshops in the livewells?

Just make sure you get the most recent publication date (I think it's the 2011 edition) since nearly 180 new species have been added since the 1st publication of this book.

The state reference books contain more detailed collection point data than the Peterson's guides.
By more detailed, you mean such as exact counties and rivers you can find the fish?
