Drilling acrylic tank easy??.

Hi everyone I need to drill the top of my acrylic tank 225gal 5x3x2 and i like to know ....
-Is it easy
-Has anyone crack the acrylic
-How long does it take
I'm going to drill 4 holes for 2 FX5 and 1.5 drill size

It's real easy. Think it through long and hard before you drill. Go real slow.

Around here I won't be able to get a sheet of acrylic to practice too and my tank is still really new so I'm scare to crack the acrylic

I know ppl say it's easy but I'm scare to mess up 1 hole

Its like drilling through wood, similar speed and everything, just plan where and drill, easy as that.

Do I use a wood bit?
Yep.

Hole saws work best imo.

I've never drilled an acrylic tank but I've drilled tons of acrylic sheeting up to 5/16" ....and tons of glass tanks.

Just go slow, don't force it. Use very minimal pressure. Just let the drill do it's thing.

Hold a block of wood against the backside of the acrylic tight. Most mistakes happen when the drill exits the hole. Give it something to crash into.
