Bear with me, I'm not well versed in this kind of filtration. But I'm trying to learn.

So, for my 155 gal tank I figure I would probably need about 11gal per minute. Or if I get creek fish I could need 25gal per minute. With 5 feet of head. I hope that is all of the figures needed. I intend for the clean water to be pumped from the sump to the tank. Gravity from the tank back to the sump.

I have zero experience with picking pump brands. Please just make a suggestion or a couple suggestions. I don't need something expensive, relatively.

Thanks.

More info needed to say specifically what you need, but Danner magdrive pumps are quite durable, i own 4 and am searching for a 5th, they're reliable and ive never had to service one. As for the model, if you want 10x turnover at 5 foot head I would go for a mag 18, that's 1800gph minus head pressure. Step down is 1200, then 950, then 700. Seems to be a fair amount of used ones around. Cheers.
