I had some of my java fern randomly brown on me and die. all other plants attached on the wood and all in the tank are fine, is this normal for java fern to randomly die off?

Usually java won't die but there some cases I got Java Fern die off after the mother leaf produced a bunch baby planets then the mother leaf just become yellow and died, babies java will continue grow out on that or sometimes took off and float around. Another change that some parts of java on driftwood complete in darkness (no light reach to that part of it) then that part will die off over time.
