Is this a dehelzi?
One of them had what looked like a bump near the anus but may have been pooping

Is it normal that its tail was redish?

Would either be ok in a 75 for life ? Tank mates are a few rosy barns and a vieja argentea temp is 77/78

Yep Delhezi and senegal. They should be fine in that tank however they might eat the barbs. And yes the "reddish" part is normal.

Any preferences between dehlzi and Senegal?

Are they hard to get on pellets ? The dehlzi are already on them not the senegal

IME P. delhezi is more nocturnal & sedentary. Senegals, while bland in color are active all day long and are out in the open swimming all over the tank.

He swims up to the lens, just to make sure it's not food. He is a charicter, one of my favorite fish.

^^ this. If youre looking for personality and activity during "our" hours go with a senegal. My delhezi along with most ive seen arent the most active during the day, but not the laziest either.

Del is on pellets.......del has nice patterns..... dels can be active too....... look at the tank for a while if you have that chance and observe...... if you do this for 10 minutes..... you will end up liking one more over the other..... then you'll know..... -- downside: you might end up liking BOTH.....

Thanks guys. i dont care if hes lazy when the lights are on but if he'll just hide that would be a problem. Pet peeve i cant keep a fish if i dont get to see it everynow and then.

I kike the look of both the dehlzi has nicer color but something cool about the senegal too.

Are they hard to get off of live foods ? The senegal supposedly is eating fish but the dehlzi are on pellets.

Also any ideas about the bumb on the dehlzi's anus ? Is rhat how they look when they are pooping ?

Mine eats anything, pellets, worms, fish, anything.

I don't see anything wrong with the delhezi.
