How long do plecos live for

I read somewhere that they can live for a ling time like 15 to 20 yrs but is that just for commons ? B.S ?

I've read they can pass the 15 and even 20 age mark I well cared for and I don't see anything to dispute this. You gotta figure some of these fish grow super slow but to monstrous proportions. There tanky and for the most part hardy fish. Will all plecos reach that age? Of course not but its very possible to get some to reach and exceed that.

I remember seeing pictures of a BN that was over 40 years old. I don't think I've had any more than 15 years.
