A tank breaking sounds like a gunshot.

uploadfromtaptalk1430121326111.jpg About 1130 pm heard a what sounded like a gunshot. Went to check to make sure the dogs were okay and stepped in 5 gallons of water only to find the other 8 still draining from the tank. The picture is of the aftermath after cleanup.

A wet dry shop vac has never come in handy more!

Hello petco dollar per gallon sale!

Also what sucks the most is my dwarf sag was just taking off and carpeting! :(

how long have you had the tank? and do you know what company you bought it through? makes me nervous haha
I've personally had it almost 4 years. But I got it off craigslist so no idea how old it really is. Once I get it empty it should have a built date. I think what caused it was a drastic change in temp and the heater not working correctly. The water was close to 90 and I had just opened a window nearby to cool the house, so the air coming in was about 60.

Oh, Man, that blows!

At least it was a smaller tank.

Petco's sale ends 5/2.

I just had 4 gallons leak out of a 40 gallon overnight. I was amazed how much damage that little bit did.

I have a much different mindset now.

Threads like these just make me paranoid. My idea that smal tanks can't leak is forever ruined!
