is this a good combo? i am planing on doing something unique.

under gravel fliter and sand with a flat rock on top of the sand located in the middle of the tank. this slate will act as a contrast to the eggs if they happen to drop. on that slate i'll put another slate which the angles can lay eggs on.

then on one side i'm goin to plant some swords and a few other plants. thats for the fry to hide when they hatch.

then on the other side i'm goin to make 1 or 2 shelves that will extend maybe 10 inches out toward the middle. this will be more as an experiment.

one i really want will be close to the top maybe 2 inches below the water line. put more sand, layered with moss. and the bottom shelf close to the ground so shirmp and catfish can hide under. and again with sand and moss on top.

but primarily this will be for my breeding pair of anglefish.

but i'm wondering how dirty quarts sand gets if i use a gravel filter. or if i don't.

thanks guys.

sand + undergravel = no go! ;) setup sand with unergravel jets as they are called then use regular fitration methods! will be beautifull, good luck!
