Anyone keep alligator gar? Or are they protected and therefore cannot be kept in aquariums.

they arent protected, but they still shouldnt be kept in aquariums, unless you have a spare 10,000g lying around

the smaller gar species are pretty popular to keep tho

Just wondering if any other monster fish lovers out there can actually keep them, and if they have some nice pics maybe. These things are real monsters. I would be affraid to maintain the tank or pond!

yeah, just show them the ferocity by throwing something in for it to eat and let them watch. They will probably change their minds about messing with you after that.

I had a alligator gar years an years ago, I dont recomend them for tanks. a small quickset pool would be ok or a pond, but nothing less that 3' deep.
