Blue Cincta...You Decide

The person that is selling them told me that they were collected out of Peru. Talked with Vinny about it, and he said that the all the cincta that he has seen that have any blue on them have came out of Peru. So that getting cincta from there was your best bet of getting some blues.

They are still pretty young, around 3 to 5", can't tell from the pictures. Its possible they may still just be greens. You can see hints of blue around the tail and on the gill operculum though, so its debatable. Figured I'd leave it up to you guys to decide! :)

All else fails, one of us could get them, grow them up, and see what they turn out to be! Even if they aren't blue's...they are still HOTT pikes! :D

Yes let me buy them through your description and photos!

Well i don't have the tank or money, just pointing out the obvious about not being able to buy them from what you've provided.
 
If only I could get the nice square 200 from a shop AND these.

1st pic doesn't seem like much and the others look like too much light and flash.

Cincta has been my fav so a tank full, especially if blue, would be :drool: (we need new smilies)

hard to say they look blue but they are young i say one of us buy them and grow them out to see if there blues or not like you said even if there not blue still a great pike
 
Sorry to bring back this relatively old thread, but are these fish by any chance at A Place for Pets in Burien, WA? The tank and other fish that are there look familiar. If so, I bought one, so we will see what it grows up to be. :)
 
I think so ... I let slip they had blue looking peruvian cincta to peanut ... and well ... I heard the squeals all the way here in washington. :grinno:
 
damn those are some real nice pike cichlids.... almost make we want to reconsider getting more of them....
 
My pictures aren't any better than what Peanut posted, but here they are. We'll find out if they are blue's or not, my little guy/girl is doing great and eating pellets like a pig! It eats until it's belly looks like it's going to explode, and then the next day the bulge is gone. When I was at the store, the had one left (as of a couple weeks ago). I don't know if it's still there or not, but someone should check it out. Does anyone have any photos of blue cincta that they could post up?
