This fish was given to me (and is my first Hybrid) by my local dealer, but they couldn't remember the official ID.

with or without an ID, its a cool fish... but it would be nice to know what it is

any help is apreciated...

It's a red texas cichlid. Why dont you take pictures of it in the water? Hope it fades all the black off. Feed it red colored food. GL. When they grow bigger they will be territorial meanies. Very cool fishes.
 
well that's what it is. Firste generation cross texs it look like.
 
I hope to have some more pics by teusday... when i did the last water change, i didn't realize the city was testing hydrants in the area... long story short, the water is cloudy. hopefully that will be taken care of tonight.

also, I wanted to ask about color foods. what brands are recomended and who sells them at the best prices.
