HELP!!!
I was bass fishing at a lake when a I saw one duck chasing another!
Then notice the duck heading towards it nest, then it crushes one egg!
I ran there to stop it but it managed to crack 6, I only saved 4.
Never did touch the nest but the mother came and left the nest, never to return. How do I incubate them by hand? I'n no way buying a 200$ incubater just to incubate 4 duck eggs and never to use it again, I don't want them to die, and I've always wanted a duck :D!

Oh, and I know it seems weird to post a thread about incubating ducks in a monster fish forum, but I have nowhere else to go and my email was hacked, can't sign up on another forum!

When I get a chance, I breed lovebirds on the side for a local pet shop...My breeders never left their nest boxes....Try this:

Get a bunch of newspaper, maybe 5 pages...
Shred the newspaper into peices the size of shredded cheese....
Spray the paper with water, save a dried handful......
form a small "nest" with the paper....
throw the dried handful in the middle of the bowl-shaped nest.....
Get a shoe box, punch 4 holes on the top with a screwdriver....
Place the nest in the box....
place the eggs on the completed nest.....

wow, cool for you. i would also suggest getting a heat source like a full spectrum light bulb..... find out the temp of a ducks butt and keep the eggs at that temp.

Thats not weird at all.
Would you have to flip the eggs over like a chickens so they dont get deformed?

You flip them so they don't get stuck one side, I'm keeping them at 90-100 degrees...the bad news, I think I killed one already :(....
Oh well, at least I know the other 3 are alive.

Well, I cracked open the dead egg to see what stage of devolopment it was at, (yes it was dead, it was black) and I'd say 7-10 days. The duckling inside had wings feet and eyes but still had a long ways too go. I'll go back to the nest and see if any other eggs are still there, maybe I missed some? How long can they survive without warm temps?

go online and get an incubator or you could see if your local high/middle school will incubate them as like a biology thing and then give u the hatched babies
