I prefer the emp. Spraybar, biowheel, easier to clean, dual intakes, and I like the media bags more. Oh and I love these things...

The Aquaclear is a little quieter splashwise and ACs are known to run forever.

My vote is for AC 110. I have both currently running on my tanks and the AC does a much better job IMO.

doesn't this come up up like everyother month or so?? and everytime is the same out come. depends on your personal preferance
I personally use the Penguin 330B, and the newer 350..
I don't believe in spending the extra 20-30bucks for the emporer version, as after looking at, researching, and talking with sellers and users.. only difference between the penguin and the emporer is (keeping in mind same exact manufacturer) that the emporer is suppsoedly good for about 5-10gallons more than the penguin...
everyone seems happy whether they choose bio wheel or ac

Aquaclear...hands down the best power filters on the market today. I've got one thats approaching a decade old and it still works.

No contest, emperor 400 is the emperor of all HOBs. The bio wheels work great with the spray bars for oxygenation and the two extra slots in the back for chemical or extra bio is unbeatable. Also I made clamshells instead of filter cartridges and I put my own mechanical media in it with 100 micron filter pad behind it. Had Acs and they were crap with how the mechanical and chemical media was in them. My emperors are 12 yrs old and never replaced a part.
