What do you keep with your arowana?

Hey all

I just joined the forum so I thought I would start by telling you I am in the middle of building an arowana tank.

I want to know what weird and perfect combination of fish you keep with you arowana?

I was personally thinking of putting green severums and a teacup stingray. I would love to put in a school of colorful fish.

Suggestions, opinions, and experience are appreciated :)
 
Some of the most beautiful Arowana tanks I have seen involve a big school of Discus for the mid and bottom level.

I personally keep gar with mine.
 
I like the look of a few well chosen datnoids, a flowerhorn, or a fei feng, and a couple bottom feeders such as a tig, ray, some polys, or a fly river turtle.
Also, I am a fan of blood parrots with arowanas but everyone seems to disagree with me!:irked:
 
I agree with LBathory, except for that blood parrot thing:D

What type arowna are you thinking, with a silver or black aro patrolling the top of the tank it leaves the bottom open for endless combos. I keep mine with an array of smaller community type fish.

Florida gar and "fake" tropical gar..some JD's. It's in the sig below :)
 
With my asian arrow I keep a: indo dat,parrot fish,flagtail,silver dollar,Red tail giant gourami(this looks good b/c it nice to have 2 big fish at the top of the tank)I also has a niger and irwini catfish but I took them out b/c they were not getting enough food. They will go back in about 1 month when they are bigger. I have also kept stingrays with my arrow for his entire life just recently I sold my last ray. But this combo works well for me, I call this tank "my peacful monster tank" mainly b/c my fish are so chill.

I agree,also some tinnys for the middle too works well in my tank.

i keep my two aros just with polys for bottom level.
