A few weeks ago I posted the below thread as I was getting food in my sump....

From the replies in that that thread, I started to turn off my return pump during feeding times to stop the food going down my overflows and into my sump. This idea was working great, but there were some down sides.
1. Sometimes I would forget to turn the pump back on for quite some time.
2. My heater in my sump would get fully submerged by the rising water level.
3. One time, one of my overflows had a delay in working, causing my sump to almost run dry and then the heater started burning.
Number 3 was the final straw. I couldn't/can't find feeding rings in Korea, so I decided to make something. I got my inspiration from an empty beer bottle
Here's the prototype.....it is cable attached to the lid and is funnel shaped. It sits about 1/2" below the surface of the water and it located near the spray bar, so all the food is blown down from the surace.
It works great as I can feed my fish with opening the lid and no food goes down the overflows, so I can leave the sump running 24/7
