So Im building a shark pool! :grinno::grinno:

The base for it is a 12' Intex . With an additional 12' Intex liner overlapped. Lighting is 3 two-bulb 32 watt t8 shoplight fixtures. The filtration im Working on right now is two 35 gallon wet/dry garbage cans. The pump to these barrels is a proline hydrive 6000 GPH submersible/in-line pump. PVC is 2", and im making my own overflow/surface skimmer. From buying the two pools i also have the two 530 gph pumps/micron filters that came included. They'll be used for mechanical filtration and extra flow. I might also use them to power a small sump simply for an external area to place the titanium heaters i plan on using.

I have not included a picture of the pool because i feel like its not picture worthy.... yet. When ive finished, or atleast begun to frame it, you will begin to see the progress.

I havent decided whether to use pond tape or pvc glue to adhere to the two liners. Any suggestions?

I also need information on 1000 gallon PLUS protein skimmers, denitrators and so on. Anyone think i could pull this off with just the wet drys? HAHA probably not.

Pics so far show the lighting, 24 Fifty gallon bags of Instant Ocean, 150 pounds of grain 3 filter sand, 240 pounds of Aragonite. Salt and sand alone ran me over 600 bucks. And i still need atleast 300 pounds of sand to get the bed im looking for.

The pump was 310 with shipping. Two pools together cost 280. Light fixtures and bulbs 120. PVC, garbage barrels, cinder blocks, wood, PVC glue/primer, pond tape, Pond patches, egg crate, 260.

So roughly 600 + 310 + 280 + 120 + 260 = 1570
And counting, and this was supposed to be the cheaper alternative to a new 240gallon.
But its definitely more fun! :grinno::grinno:

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I definitely need some help with this. Ive seen plenty of threads on here about intex FRESHWAtER pools but havent seen anything, with pics atleast, of a saltwater pool. HELP ME OUT!!!
Thanks.

Cant upload the pics right now, the upload keeps failing.
Ill try again in a little bit.

I tried JPEGS and GIFS and both formats got "Upload of file failed" for all four pics. This sucks

Ill try again in a little while, maybe its the websites server, not my computer. Any suggestions?

Yes, lets see some pictures of this project. :)

See if this works

dont mind the half finished basement, Less sheet rock to ruin when a shark bites through the liner and 1500 gallons of saltwater rush through the basement!!!

Skimmer - if you're on a budget, I had several reputable tank manufacturers suggest an ASM G6 for 1000 gallon tanks (rated for 1200 gallons). They're $700 shipped online.

Where to you buy all those boxes of salt?
