Alright. Did your fish crawl out of a primordial soup or were they placed in their native habitat by a deity?

I will reserve my opinion for now.

Instant flame war, just add water. Oh, and some dechlorinator.

Try and keep it civil.

well, evolution is proven fact. the real question is, what put that first living cell there. If it was a perfect chemical reaction accident, what put those initial molecules there? if they came from other planets, what put the first atoms of other planets there?

I dont feel like busting out the philosophy guns right now.

go read Sophie's World or something.

this discussion will lead nowhere, you're asking for trouble and you know it!

:iagree:

it can be proven that speciation has caused fish species to evolve from other species. however what got it all started is simply a matter of opinion/belief. :)

I agree with Fry! This is just going to get people with their different beliefs all pissed at eachother!

I would like to think my fellow members will make interesting points while reserving judgement.

Stephen Hawking also acknowledges evolution (not really in terms of living animals but of the evolution of the universe) and mentions a higher power in his books. As we all know, it all started with the big bang. I believe that a higher power initially intervened, causing that singularity to become unstable and explode. That higher power (God) set it off in a way that would lead to the universe being created in a manner that was pre-determined. That is, He intended for everything to exist/evolve the way it has and set off the big bang in a manner that would allow for it to evolve to fit His image. Since then though, He has let nature take its course. IMHO (right now... might change as I age/learn more. Definately open to suggestions)

I like this thread and am also interested in hearing other possibilities and opinions. I think we can handle this without it escalating into a fight.

By the way.... "A Brief History of Time" by Stephen Hawking = GREAT READ. I'm personally more of a bio. guy, but this book definately kept my interest. One of the most interesting books I have read.

This is the kind of post I was looking for, not necessarily in perspective but attitude. A great opinion, a great post.
