All of this madness with fish being shipped got me to thinking about how many great LFS we have out here, so I thought it might be good for us to make a compilation of where we like to shop and why...I'll kick it off.

T, the owner is a really good guy. I've been going here for years and years, and it's to the point now that I've got the ability to start a tab if I'm in a bind and don't have the cash I need. Their fish are always healthy, and if they're not they're honest with you up front about it. Their tanks are all seperate, not run on one large sump, so there's less of a chance of transferring illness, and their prices are reasonable. With some good tank busters from time to time.

I agree with you. That is a pretty good shop. But Im waaaay partial to Ocean Blue. Brian the owner has that place geared toward the MFK crowd. He gets some pretty seldom found stuff at times and its always healthy. Most of the bigger fish that I have now are from him. He also gets all kinds of tankbusters. I dont have the address or # on hand but he can be found in the vendors forum....

I also have 1 LFS near Main Place Mall in Santa Ana but i forgot the name and the address. It's about 5 min from Main place mall. He has couple nice salt water set up for displace and sometimes has some monster fish. I have talk to the owner couple times. He has really good knowledge about fish and filter. He will answer your question even you don't buy anything. I haven't buy anything from him yet so i'm not so sure about price.

I like All Happy Aquarium (top of my list), a place called "the Aquarium" in Culver City. They have salt and fresh. Not the best selection, but once you know them you can get a good selection

Is it that place on chapman????

The Reef has some 3"-4" indo dats for 19.95, 12"-15" gigas for 120.99, 8-9" bichirs (dahlizzi?) not sure on a price...full grown midas, mated pair of midas, full grown green terrors, young wolfies (cichlids, not wolf fish)...

If you request items T can usually get them in for you. Tell him the guy who returned a 30 gallon stand recently sent you over and he'll probably be a lot nicer with you, hehe.

West1:

right now we have a 15" ornate, and some like 6-7" ornate bichirs, we have a bunch of sa cichlids for sale (synaspilum, argentea, things like that) We get all sorta of bichirs tho, we've had del, endli's, a couple retropennis a few weeks ago, we get lung fish, we have crenicichla.. Anything particular you are looking for?
